Highly Cited Papers
As
a service for MTT
Society members
and the larger research community, we have compiled a list of
highly-cited papers in Signal
Generation (oscillators)
and Frequency
Conversion (mixers and multipliers). We have
subdivided these two broad areas into
sub-topics and the three most cited papers in each topic have
been
included in the list.
Methodology
-
The above pages
were generated using the ISI Citation Index (Web of
Knowledge) from Thomson Reuters Corp.,
which indexes peer-reviewed journal papers. Conference papers are not
included in this list. While other indexing databases are
available such as Google Scholar, which indexes a broader array of
primary
sources including theses, abstracts, and
preprint repositories, some of these sources may not be
peer-reviewed. Thereore we have chosen to use the ISI
Citation
Index for consistency purposes.
Disclaimer
-
The TCC-22
makes no specific judgement on the accuracy of the ordering of the
papers in these pages. In an effort to be
objective,
the papers were ordered based on the absolute
number of
citations each paper has
received
to date (Spring 2009). Note, however, that an older paper
in a specific topic can have more
citations than a newer paper by
virtue of having been published first
although the
newer paper may have significantly
advanced the
state-of-the-art
relative to the older paper. Therefore, users of these pages
must
exercise their own judgement in
interpreting which paper is most novel or is the most relevant to their
own work.
