MTT-22: Signal Generation and Frequency Conversion

Mission Statement:

"To promote the research and engineering of signal generation and
frequency conversion techniques"

Chair: Carlos Saavedra
Vice-Chair: Scott Wetenkamp

Past Chair:
Edmar Camargo

Oscillators or clocks are at the heart of all computing, communication, navigation and sensor systems. Frequency multipliers, dividers and mixers are needed to produce multiple frequencies within a system. It is the mission of the MTT-22 Technical Committee to promote the development of signal generation and frequency conversion techniques applied to circuits and systems. This subcommittee will evaluate new developments in the field of RF and microwave oscillators, frequency multipliers and dividers, mixers, and frequency synthesizers.

The main responsibilities for this Technical Coordinating Committee are as follows:
  • Contribute to the review of papers submitted for publication in MTT-S journals and conferences
  • Promote technical dissemination through workshops and tutorial articles
  • Sponsor special issues of MTT Transactions in the area of signal generation and frequency conversion.
  • Initiation and popularization of standards and figures of merit (FOM's)
  • Sponsor and co-sponsor technical meetings, conference sessions, focused sessions, panel sessions and workshops at conferences and symposia organized or supported by MTT.
  • Collaboration with other Technical Committees of MTT Society, as well as with Technical Program Committees of international and national conferences of interest to MTT Society and its members.
  • Review and approve/reject candidate Symposium Workshops.
  • Sponsor regional and other Technical meetings.
  • Build and manage a website to describe the Committee and provide a forum for information exchange
The Committee consists of a number of experts in the field representing industry, government and academia from around the world.
